Elderly Woman Attacked by Stranger in Ke Xinna Corridor Park in the Morning.

On the morning of May 31st, shortly after 5 a.m., an elderly Chinese woman in her 80s was assaulted at the Kissena Corridor Park in Flushing. Witness Ms. Li recalled that on the mentioned day, she and her friend Ms. Yan were exercising in the park located at the junction of Main Street and Colden Street, where there is a long bench. Suddenly, a man in his twenties or thirties of African descent knocked over a trash can and then punched Ms. Yan in the head. The 82-year-old victim stumbled and fell to the ground as a result. The assailant then fled the scene.

Ms. Li described how upon witnessing the attack, she quickly chased after the man to take his picture as evidence. Eventually catching up to him, she successfully managed to take a photo. When the culprit noticed he was being photographed, he moved towards Ms. Li menacingly, but seeing someone approaching in the vicinity, he quickly pulled his hat over his face and made his escape.

After the incident, Ms. Yan, the victim of the assault, discovered a significant bump on her head and abrasions on her knees. According to Ms. Li, based on the perpetrator’s reaction, he did not seem mentally unstable. Nevertheless, the fact that he chose to violently assault an elderly woman early in the morning at the park is truly outrageous.

Subsequently, they reported the incident to the 109th Precinct and provided the suspect’s photo in the hope that the authorities will promptly apprehend him and bring him to justice.
