Hong Kong singer Eason Chan has embarked on a six-show “Fear and Dreams” tour in Wuhan, China since last week. However, during one of the shows, he injured his waist while dancing too enthusiastically. He was in so much pain that tears welled up in his eyes as he held onto his waist. Eventually, he had to cancel the dancing segment and stood to receive song requests from fans instead.
During the performance on the evening of the 5th, as Chan sang the fourth part of the concert, “Life Marathon,” the audience could see on the big screen that he was singing with a pained expression. Initially, viewers thought his emotion was for the song, but gradually realized that tears were in his eyes as he touched his waist, leaving them puzzled about what had happened.
During the interactive segment with the audience, Chan told the crowd, “Yesterday was special. You know, there’s a part in my concert where I usually dance to an upbeat song. But yesterday, I hurt my waist because I was too excited. It doesn’t matter how old you are *chuckles*, it was an accident. I really cried from the pain just now. It’s never happened to me before, it was really painful.”
Chan jokingly added, “So, how about this? Since you all love me so much, Wuhan, May 5th, No Encore, *laughs*!” When the audience cheered, “No need to dance!” Chan replied, “You all are too kind to me. No need to dance, just sing? Does that mean I don’t have to change my outfit, what do you want to hear?”
In the end, he sang a medley of songs requested by fans, including “Ambush from All Sides,” “Ferris Wheel,” “Always with Me,” “Forget the Lyrics,” “Exaggerate,” and “Salon.” Despite enduring the pain in his waist, he thanked the audience for their understanding and support, saying, “Thank you for accommodating, accommodating my waist and back.” He expressed that not being able to dance led to singing more songs, bringing unexpected joy, and concluded by exclaiming, “It was exhilarating, a very special day.”
