According to the official determination by the China Earthquake Networks Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 33.97 degrees north latitude, 87.77 degrees east longitude, 132 kilometers from Shuanghu County, 248 kilometers from Nima County, 488 kilometers from Nagqu City, and 576 kilometers from Lhasa City.

Based on the China Earthquake Networks Center’s rapid catalog, within a 200 kilometer radius of the epicenter, there have been a total of 86 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above in the past five years. The largest earthquake occurred on June 1, 2024, with a magnitude of 5.9 in Nima County, Nagqu City, Tibet, at a distance of 131 kilometers from the epicenter of this recent earthquake.
