The wife of General Li Jing from Chentang Pass gave birth to a flesh ball after being pregnant for three years and six months. The air was filled with a pleasant fragrance, and the room was bathed in a red glow. Li Jing wielded his sword to cut open the flesh ball, from which a child leaped out. The Immortal Taiyi took the child as his disciple, named him Nezha, and bestowed upon him the Universe Ring, the Mix-Heavenly Silk, and great supernatural powers. This led to the exciting story of Nezha’s antics in the sea.
