On August 3, Chinese Communist Party Politburo Standing Committee member Cai Qi visited experts in Beidaihe, leading to speculation that the secretive Beidaihe Conference time has arrived. On August 7, a video went viral on the overseas social platform X, showing a man outside the Kunming Anti-Japanese War Victory Memorial Hall holding a banner that read “Xi Jinping, Step Down”.
The video showed a young man in a white t-shirt, grey shorts, glasses, holding a white banner with black lettering reading “Xi Jinping, Step Down” in front of his chest. Many onlookers were filming the scene. A security personnel with a red armband on an electric scooter stopped in front of the man but did not intervene, seemingly reporting the situation on a phone.
Due to the Chinese government’s censorship, Epoch Times is unable to confirm the specific timing of this event or the identity of the individuals involved.

Activist Zhou Fengsu expressed, “‘Xi Jinping, Step Down!’ Salute to the Kunming warrior.”
Some expressed concerns for the man’s safety: “Brave warrior, he might disappear again, please pay attention to his safety!”
Others boldly stated that not only should Xi Jinping step down, but the Communist Party as a whole should step down: “It should be the CCP stepping down.”
