Driver hits pedestrian and flees, Los Angeles police offer reward for search

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is currently searching for a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a 63-year-old woman in Sherman Oaks on September 6th.

According to a report from the city news agency, LAPD data shows that the accident occurred around 5:54 pm on Friday, September 6th. At that time, a black Hyundai sedan was traveling west on Ventura Blvd and made a left turn onto Costello Ave, where it struck a pedestrian crossing the marked crosswalk.

The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Costello Ave, then making a right turn to head west on Davana Terrace. The driver did not stop to assist the woman who was hit.

Paramedics transported the injured woman to the hospital, and her injuries are reported to be severe.

In a statement, the authorities reminded drivers that in the event of a collision, they should immediately stop in a safe manner, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

The city of Los Angeles is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the responsible individual.
