On both ends of the earth, there is a place called Harcourt Road, one side in Hong Kong and the other in Sheffield, United Kingdom. What connection do these two streets have and what special stories lie behind them? Recently, artist and former Wan Chai District Councilor Zhang Jiali and her husband Agin launched a special research project, funded by the local National Heritage Lottery Fund, focusing on Harcourt Road. They delved into the Sheffield community, documenting oral histories of local residents and new immigrants from Hong Kong to the UK, and collecting relevant artifacts to uncover the stories between Harcourt Road in Hong Kong and the UK. Through cultural exploration, they aim to bridge the gap between Hong Kong and the UK.
