Dollar General Issues Recall for Clover Valley Instant Coffee Contaminated with Glass Fragments

Dollar General announced on August 11th a voluntary recall of Clover Valley® instant coffee sold in stores across 48 states due to potential glass contamination.

The recall pertains to three batches of 8 oz Clover Valley® instant coffee, and customers can verify the affected products by checking the product numbers and dates provided. The batch number and best if used by date information can be found on the bottle necks.

Customers who purchased the Clover Valley® instant coffee with UPC number 876941004069 between July 9th and 21st, 2025, in Dollar General stores in the following states are affected by the recall:

Batch: L-5163 / Best if used by date: December 13, 2026;

Batch: L-5164 / Best if used by date: December 13, 2026;

Batch: L-5165 / Best if used by date: December 14, 2026.

Dollar General advises customers who have bought these products to discard them and contact Dollar General for a full refund, including taxes, through email at [email protected] or by phone at 1-888-309-9030 (6:00 am – 1:00 am Central Time).

The recalled products were exclusively sold and distributed in Dollar General retail stores across the 48 states. The recall was initiated after a customer alerted Dollar General employees of the potential issue. Ingesting glass fragments can pose harm to consumers, including injuries such as dental damage, oral and throat lacerations, or intestinal perforation. So far, no reports of illness or injury have been received.

Dollar General is actively investigating the source of the glass contamination and deeply apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this product issue. The recall has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
