Disney Releases Star Wars Series, Lee Jung-jae Plays Jedi Warrior in “Servant”

South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae, known as the “Blue Dragon Actor,” is set to make his debut in the intergalactic Star Wars series “The Steward” on Disney+. Following the release of the official trailer recently, today (May 10th) marks the unveiling of Lee Jung-jae’s behind-the-scenes interview, where he shares his thoughts on joining the Star Wars universe for the first time.

“I still can’t believe I am now a part of Star Wars! I remember the awe I felt as a child watching Star Wars for the first time on the big screen,” he expressed.

The intense and thrilling martial arts scenes in the series are one of the highlights of “The Steward,” but the seasoned actor mentioned that, despite undergoing various sword fighting training for previous roles, “I quickly realized that using a lightsaber poses a completely different challenge.”

In “The Steward,” Lee Jung-jae portrays a Jedi warrior named “Sawyer,” who investigates a series of crimes during what should be a peaceful era, slowly heading towards a destiny and impact of “no one can escape the truth.”

Lee Jung-jae’s casting was no coincidence. Leslie Hedlund, who previously worked on the dark comedy “Russian Doll: Party Loop” and directed “The Steward,” revealed, “When I was writing the character of Master Sawyer, coinciding with the release of ‘Squid Game,’ I thought, ‘It’s him!’.” She praised Lee Jung-jae for his seamless portrayal of varying emotions and situations, marveling at his exceptional acting skills that are hard to come by.

The latest thrilling spin-off series of Star Wars, “The Steward,” is set against the backdrop of “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” a hundred years ago in a world filled with dark secrets and emerging dark forces. A former Jedi apprentice teams up with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes in a more treacherous situation than they had anticipated.

The cast of “The Steward” includes South Korean star Lee Jung-jae, actress Amanda Sternberg, actor Manny Jacinto, actress Daphne Keene, and actress Kaeley Mones, among others. The first two episodes will premiere on June 5th on Disney+.
