Surveillance footage showed the pair walking through the square with umbrellas when a flash of white light struck one of the umbrellas, causing a significant amount of electrical sparks at the scene, leading to both individuals being struck and falling to the ground.

On the 14th, the emergency management bureau of Taihe District in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province reported that the incident occurred at 7:15 p.m. on the 13th at the Jinzhou North Station square. A 30-year-old man, Sun Moumou, was struck by lightning while waiting at the station, and his companion, Li Mou, was knocked down by Sun Moumou. Currently, both individuals are not in life-threatening condition.
