Today’s Focus: Kaoshi Saonai’s “Taiwan Issue” Causes Comprehensive Collapse of CCP Diplomacy; Will the US and Japan Include Taiwan in Security? “Substantial Preparedness” of the US, Japan, and Taiwan Interconnected; CCP’s “Comprehensive Failure” Exposes Beijing’s Diplomatic Misjudgment.

The G20 summit, where Japanese Prime Minister Kaoshi was widely welcomed, reiterated its neutral stance towards China. After a month in office, Kaoshi’s approval rating exceeded 75%, with 61% of the public viewing the “Taiwan Issue” positively.

Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi Insuke inspected Yonaguni Island, 111 kilometers from Taiwan, and will deploy missile systems. On the 21st, foreign media revealed that the US military will establish the first island chain strategic node there. On the 22nd, the media disclosed that the Republic of China Marine Corps conducted joint military exercises with the US in Guam in October. How should these consecutive messages be interpreted?

On the issue of “Taiwan,” Kaoshi Saonai’s solid stance has garnered support and praise. She engaged with leaders from 18 countries and international organizations at the G20 summit but did not interact with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. During the G20 closing, she stated, “There was no communication or coordination with China prior to this visit. There was no opportunity to speak with Chinese Premier Li Qiang during the G20 summit.” The US ambassador to Japan has also stated that America supports Japan in any disputes with China.

On the other hand, there are reports that the CCP is mobilizing its diplomatic allies to oppose Japan’s stance on the “Taiwan Issue.”

With the recent actions of Taiwan, the US, and Japan in defense, it seems a trend is emerging. Japan firmly reiterated its neutral stance at the G20. Defense Minister Koizumi, known as the “awakening,” inspected Yonaguni Island (111 kilometers from Taiwan) and Ishigaki Island, planning to create “two-week shelter facilities” and emphasizing the importance of deploying a “radar interference” unit. Missile units will be stationed not only on Ishigaki Island but also on Yonaguni Island, located 270 kilometers from Taiwan.

Foreign media reported on the US Marine Corps stationed on Yonaguni Island for the past two months, supporting the US-Japan Keikyo Tiger 2025 military exercise to establish Yonaguni Island as a key node in the first island chain strategy.

Furthermore, media revealed that Taiwan’s Marine Corps engaged in combat exercises with the US for the first time in October. The Republic of China Marine Corps’ 66th Brigade 2nd Battalion, in a month-long training relocation on Guam, acted as the attacking force while the US Marine Corps defended.

According to sources cited by the Financial Times, an upcoming Taiwan-US customs agreement is expected to be announced soon. Taiwan has pledged to invest approximately $400 billion in the US, including the $165 billion investment promised by TSMC in the US.
