In Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, at the entrance of a residential community on the North Street of the Racecourse, a delivery driver was electrocuted due to flooding from the heavy rain. Additionally, a road in the city collapsed, causing a privately-owned car to fall into the sinkhole. Bystanders used hammers to break the car windows and rescued the occupants.

On July 25th, a netizen posted a video claiming that a delivery driver was electrocuted due to flooding at the entrance of a residential community on the North Street of the Hohhot Racecourse in Inner Mongolia in recent days.
According to a report by Jimo News on July 26, nearby businesses in the community stated that the North Street of the Racecourse had indeed been flooded due to heavy rain recently, but they were not aware of the situation involving the delivery driver.
Officials from the Emergency Management Bureau of Hohhot City stated that on the afternoon of the 23rd, they received the report, and the driver had been taken to a local hospital. Staff from the relevant hospital’s emergency department later confirmed that they had received the individual, but there were regulations prohibiting them from disclosing details. A staff member of the city’s funeral parlour mentioned that they had received the body of a 19-year-old boy who died from electrocution in the past two days, and the body was currently being kept at the funeral parlour.
Additionally, according to another local netizen’s video, on the evening of the 25th, a road surface suddenly collapsed on West Street in Ordos, causing a vehicle to plunge into a sinkhole while in motion.
The video showed the front half of a black car falling into the sinkhole, with the rear wheels stuck on the road surface while water continuously flowed into the sinkhole. With the help of bystanders, the man inside the car managed to climb out.
On July 26, Mr. Wen, a nearby business owner, told Jimo News that heavy rain fell on the evening of the 25th, causing a large sinkhole to appear on the road. Around 9 p.m., a black private car accidentally fell into the sinkhole, prompting several nearby individuals to quickly find a rope to pull the car out, but the small car was too heavy to be lifted. Mr. Wen swiftly fetched a sledgehammer from his store, while someone else used a hammer to smash the car windows and rescue the occupants.
According to Mr. Wen, the driver was a middle-aged man who suffered no major injuries, and late at night, a crane pulled the vehicle out of the sinkhole. After the incident, the large hole was cordoned off.
In response to the incident, officials from the Huimin District Government of Hohhot City stated that the occupants of the vehicle were rescued after the incident, and there were no casualties.
