Dance Competition at the Chinese Cultural Association Showcases Skill and Elegance

The 40th Golden Mountain Bay Area Chinese Dance Competition was held on July 13th (last Saturday) at the South Bay Overseas Chinese Education Center, attracting nearly 300 participants. Thirteen teams took turns to showcase their dancing skills on stage, eliciting cheers and screams from the audience.

The competition kicked off with the appearance of the Chinese Evergreen Social Club team, which included several participants over the age of eighty. One could see them gracefully gliding through their steps, displaying a spirited and confident demeanor without showing any signs of aging.

Linda Lin, the founding president of the California Line Dance Association, served as the host for the competition that day. She told the media that back in 2007, when she was the chairperson of the Chinese Sports Meet, she started organizing line dance competitions.

The benefits of this competition not only include dancing for friendship but also building deep friendships during the dance practice, leading to endless beautiful memories. Line dancing makes people healthier and happier, as well as boosts the economy since everyone buys the most beautiful clothes and shoes, and enjoys the happiest moments. She hopes that everyone can actively participate in line dancing.

Chuang Yashu, the director of the Overseas Chinese Education Center, expressed her deep emotion at seeing so many teams enthusiastically participating in the line dance competition. The competition not only motivates everyone but also promotes coordination and health among each other. Therefore, this is a fantastic competition event.

Chen Zhaoquan, the newly appointed chairperson of the 40th Chinese Sports Meet, stated that the line dance competition of the Chinese Sports Meet has not been held for 5 years. He thanked Linda Lin, the president of the Line Dance Association, for her assistance in successfully gathering everyone to hold the competition again. Line dancing not only consolidates the overseas Chinese community but also dances a healthy and brilliant life, encouraging everyone to actively participate.

The judging panel for the line dance competition on that day was composed of Shen Ning, Yirong, and Mrs. Wu Yi, wife of County Councilman Otto Lee.
