Dalian Supermarket Receives Two Counterfeit One Hundred Yuan Bills with Same Serial Number, Unable to Verify Authenticity

On September 15th, a supermarket owner in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, received two one-hundred-yuan bills with the same serial number, and surprisingly, the counterfeit detector machine could not determine which one was fake. This news quickly made its way to the top of Baidu’s hot search list on September 17th.

In a video shared by the supermarket owner in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, on the 15th, it was revealed that the store had received two identical one-hundred-yuan bills, with the same color and serial number. When the owner put both bills through the counterfeit detector machine to verify their authenticity, the machine failed to differentiate between the two, only indicating a quantity of two. When the owner individually checked each bill again, the machine still did not sound any alarms.

The female owner expressed in the video, “These two bills must be counterfeit. It’s impossible for two bills to have the same serial number. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a situation. I’ll keep them as mementos.”

Following the release of this news, it sparked discussions among netizens.

Some netizens commented that nowadays counterfeit technology has caught up with genuine currency! How is this possible? The counterfeit detector machines have become decorative items. If everyone resorts to such methods, how can economic order be maintained?

Others found it unbelievable! Counterfeiters can now produce twins, and even the counterfeit detector machines fail to account for them. Is this forcing everyone to become experts in numismatics? Severe punishment is necessary; otherwise, who will dare to engage in cash transactions in the future?

Another group of netizens pointed out that according to the laws of the Chinese Communist Party, if a store owner suspects they have received counterfeit money, they should immediately hand over these counterfeit bills to the local bank or report them to the authorities for professional verification of authenticity.
