Beau Brown, a 7-foot-1-inch (approximately 216 cm) real-life giant from Atlanta, is a towering figure that often gets stopped on the street by strangers wanting to take photos with him. This 30-year-old content creator has always been taller and heavier than the average person.
“When I was born, I weighed 13 pounds, and the people at the hospital said I was the largest baby they had ever seen,” he said.
His late father, Duke Brown, stood at 6 feet 9 inches (205 cm), while his mother, Lisa Milecki, is 6 feet tall (183 cm). So, when he grew to over 7 feet tall, his parents were not surprised.
By the time he was 14, he was already 6 feet tall, and he grew another 10 inches over the next 10 years. Growing up, whenever he played baseball, his parents would make him carry his birth certificate because people often thought he was much older than he actually was.
Being so tall meant that he had to make various adjustments to fit into a world designed for normal-sized individuals. Mrs. Brown’s house has a ceiling that is 9 feet (274 cm) high and a custom-made bed that is 9 feet long to accommodate his large frame. He drives a Ford F50 Lightning truck.
Undoubtedly, in most buildings, doorways and ceilings are indeed a problem for him, and his feet often hang off the end of a traditional bed.
“Traveling can be scary, but the pros outweigh the cons,” Brown said. “Hotels are bad; showers and even beds are bad, but now I have a custom bed at home.”
Despite the challenges that come with being so tall, Mr. Brown said he wouldn’t make any changes to his life because he’s already used to being 7 feet 1 inch tall. He often gets stopped on the street by strangers who stare at him, ask for photos, and comment on his height.
He is always asked the same questions, like, “How tall are you? Do you play basketball? What car do you drive?”
Brown’s wife, Sarah, is a recruiter and stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall. The couple recently welcomed their first child, Delilah, who is now 4 months old and already measures 269 inches tall, putting her above the 99th percentile for babies her age.
There are only 2,800 people worldwide who are over 7 feet tall.
