Cryptocurrency Executives Organize Fundraising Event in Washington to Celebrate Jinli’s Contribution

As the US election draws near, several executives and investors in the cryptocurrency industry are set to hold a fundraising event for Democratic nominee He Jingli on September 13 in Washington. They aim to raise at least $100,000 for the candidate and are also calling on He Jingli to adopt a more moderate regulatory stance.

Cleve Mesidor, Executive Director of the Blockchain Foundation, mentioned that there will be many future events where the Democratic Party can express its views on cryptocurrencies. She hopes that this event will prompt He Jingli’s future leadership team to consider how to promote cryptocurrency innovation and discuss ways to increase access to capital for people of color.

The fundraising event will take place during a gap between meetings of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Ticket prices range from $500 to $5000, aiming to attract donors from various backgrounds.

Organizers of the fundraiser include Tiffany Smith, Co-Chair of the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Working Group at WilmerHale law firm, and Rahilla Zafar, who works in the cryptocurrency industry and artificial intelligence field. They hope that if He Jingli wins the election, she will relax the Securities and Exchange Commission’s regulations on cryptocurrencies.

However, overall, the fundraising goal of this event is relatively small compared to the hundreds of millions of dollars raised by He Jingli since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee in July. Yet, it remains a latest indication of support for He Jingli from some within the cryptocurrency industry.

Recently, former President Trump has expressed a friendly stance towards Bitcoin.

At the Bitcoin conference held in Nashville, Tennessee on July 27, Trump disclosed his plans to make the US the global capital of cryptocurrencies and the world’s Bitcoin superpower, stating, “If Bitcoin is going to the moon – as we say – I want America to lead the way in this process.”

His remarks sparked enthusiastic responses among attendees.
