Couples in Meizhou, Guangdong Cry with Red Eyes, Video Goes Viral.

Recently, Guangdong Meizhou was hit by heavy rainstorms, causing devastating flooding disasters. The torrential rain triggered landslides in the mountains, and houses were destroyed by the raging winds and rain. As the floodwaters gradually receded, the villages were left in ruins, a heartbreaking sight for everyone. On June 23rd, a video of a Meizhou couple with tears in their eyes went viral.

After the floodwaters retreated, a couple who ran an agritainment business were seen devastated, their eyes red from crying. They had worked hard for 13 years, only to see all their earnings vanish overnight, and they might even have to invest more money into it.

Another business owner lamented that his liquor store, which he had carefully managed, was swept away by the surging floodwaters, resulting in a loss of nearly 2000 kilograms of fine alcohol.

Guangdong Meizhou suffered from the attack of floodwaters, causing house collapses and heavy losses. On June 23rd, another story made it to the top trending list.

After the floodwaters receded in the Meizhou area, a netizen captured a photo of a pig resting on the outdoor unit of an air conditioner on the second floor of their house. The water level line on the second-floor wall was clearly visible, indicating that the water had not reached the second floor, and the pig was carried there by the flood.

The pig appeared to be a young one, as an adult pig might have caused the air conditioner unit to collapse. Local villagers jokingly referred to it as “Pig Resilient.”

Photos circulated online showed that the ground was covered in mud after the flood. In some low-lying areas, the mud on the roads was very thick and sticky, making it very difficult to walk when vehicles couldn’t enter.

Electricity had not been restored in some areas, and residents were using candles at home.

Washing machines in residents’ homes were covered in mud, prompting them to bring out all their furniture and appliances for cleaning and to clear out the mud inside the house.
