Cool Place for Family Fun: Boston Frog Pond is Now Open

As the summer arrives, the oldest public park in America has opened its popular Frog Pond fountain, welcoming families to play and cool off together.

On the afternoon of June 25th, the Frog Pond in Boston Common welcomed the new opening season amidst lively music and the laughter of people.

The Frog Pond fountain is open for free every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Labor Day when it closes.

On the first day of opening this year, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu joined the celebration with her two children and took a dip in the water to play. The event featured the mascot of the Frog Pond, Freddie the Frog, as well as ice cream from Hood company, Lego games, and more.

“Welcome to one of the most beautiful places in the country!” Wu said.

The Frog Pond offers different scenes in summer and winter: a cooling fountain in the summer and an ice skating rink in the winter. There is also a carousel playground by the pond, with tickets priced at $4.
