Congresswoman Grace Meng announced on April 18 that the Small Business Legal Desk of the Queens Chamber of Commerce will provide consulting services for businesses at her office in Queens starting from May 3.
The “Queens Chamber of Commerce Small Business Legal Desk” is an important initiative established by Meng last year. In August last year, Meng announced that she had secured $1 million in funding for the project, which involves the organization’s staff, professionals in relevant industries, offering free consultation services to small businesses in Queens on legal, human resources, financial, accounting, contracts, and leasing matters. The services are available in English, Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, and Russian. The project also hosts monthly webinars and recommends other resources provided by the Queens Chamber of Commerce to businesses.
Meng expressed her delight in securing the $1 million to establish a much-needed small business legal service desk. She encouraged local businesses to take advantage of the valuable services offered by the legal desk, stating that “the success of small businesses in the district is the success of Queens.”
The Queens Chamber of Commerce is the oldest and largest business association in Queens, with over 1,400 business members employing more than 150,000 people. Tom Grech, President, and CEO of the Chamber, thanked Congresswoman Meng for providing the opportunity for small businesses to access crucial services and looks forward to meeting business owners at her district office on May 3.
