In the town of Renyi, Rongchang District, Chongqing, a teller at the Chongqing Nongshang Bank was seen using a magnifying glass to review documents on the computer while handling transactions, leading to concerns about their efficiency. The bank responded that the employee, aged 58 this year, has some eye issues.
On June 9, a netizen from Chongqing posted a video online revealing that when they and their father went to the Chongqing Nongshang Bank in Rongchang District to conduct business, a teller was using a magnifying glass to review documents on the computer.
The netizen stated that when they were processing their father’s transaction, they waited for almost an hour as the teller, wearing glasses and using a magnifying glass, worked at a very low efficiency. There were also two older tellers at the neighboring windows, prompting questions about their poor efficiency despite their age. Some questioned why they were still in those positions when younger individuals should be given the opportunity.
On June 11, Shenzhen News Network reported that staff at the Rongchang Branch of Chongqing Nongshang Bank responded by confirming that the employee in question is 58 years old this year and has undergone a retina detachment surgery, which has caused some issues with their eyesight. It was mentioned that they had spoken with him before, and due to some reasons, he insisted on working until the age of 60 before retiring.
