Chinese Urging US to Expel Los Angeles Consulate Official Amid Espionage Web

In recent times, a number of spies in the United States have been exposed or captured. The infiltration by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the U.S., the cross-border suppression of overseas Chinese, and its destruction of American rule of law have caused a stir in the Chinese community. Last Sunday evening, Chinese residents in Los Angeles gathered in front of the local Chinese consulate to demand the expulsion of CCP consulate officials involved in implementing cross-border suppression.

The host of the rally, Li Shiting, commented that those recently caught CCP agents are probably losing sleep every night, living in fear of the FBI knocking on their door. He emphasized that if they have committed such wrongdoing, the U.S. government will eventually catch up with them.

Li Shiting noted that after New York’s CCP Consul General Huang Ping was expelled by the New York State, to avoid expulsion, he fled back to China, reflecting indirectly that the CCP is facing a dead end. Li continued to criticize the CCP’s evil actions of breaking promises and using brutal repression methods against the Chinese people.

During the rally, attended by around 60-70 people, many of whom were recent Chinese immigrants, slogans were chanted, banners were displayed, demanding the expulsion of CCP officials involved in harassing and suppressing anti-CCP protesters—Los Angeles Consulate Deputy Consul Li Chunlin (who left his post in July this year) and the current Consul Shi Wei Meng.

Last year, during the APEC summit in San Francisco, CCP consulate officials were exposed for orchestrating harassment, suppression, and even hiring thugs to beat anti-CCP protesters, resulting in dozens of injuries. Recent in-depth investigations by The Washington Post revealed the deep involvement of four CCP officials from the San Francisco and Los Angeles consulates, including Li Chunlin and Shi Wei Meng.

Several victims who were attacked during the APEC summit last year appeared at the rally. One of them, a man from Hong Kong named Zhou Bo, recounted being attacked twice, feeling helpless against the violence. Zhou, still undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the assaults, highlighted the premeditated nature of the CCP’s attacks on protesters, calling for serious action from the U.S.

Another victim, Zhang Kaiyu, who was severely injured by CCP thugs during the summit, mentioned the recent arrest of CCP agents Sun Wen and his wife in New York by the FBI. Zhang expressed confidence in the ongoing investigations by the FBI, urging attendees not to lose hope.

Zhang emphasized the growing consensus among U.S. lawmakers regarding the CCP. He shared his testimony before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission last year and the support he received from Congressman Chris Smith, showing a shifting attitude towards the CCP.

At the end of the rally, organizers and participants called for justice against CCP thugs, support for all victims, accountability for CCP spies, and the closure and expulsion of all CCP consulate officials.

New immigrant Shen Yulong, who arrived in the U.S. in 2021, shared a disturbing encounter in the Bahamas with a red second-generation Chinese person who gathered personal information under the guise of a dinner invite. Shen warned attendees about CCP agents posing as job recruiters to gather personal information and advised them to report any suspicious activities.

With threats from authoritarian regimes extending beyond borders in today’s globalized world, newcomer Zhou Meiying from Anhui highlighted the CCP’s transnational repression through its diplomatic missions, branding them as tools of oppression and espionage.

During her speech, Chinese Democratic Party member Qiu Liming urged the U.S. to take immediate action, prosecute CCP diplomats directly involved in violent actions, especially those in Los Angeles and San Francisco consulates, as these institutions have become tools of CCP oppression.

In the face of these challenges posed by the CCP, attendees voiced their solidarity with the victims, condemned the heinous actions of the CCP, and called for justice and accountability.
