Chinese pro-democracy leader Zhu Yufu arrives in the U.S., reveals his experience of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party.

In early this year, Zhu Yufu, a pro-democracy activist from Nanjing who went to Japan for medical treatment, arrived in the United States on July 28 via the U.S. emergency entry channel, with special treatment.

Zhu Yufu, 71 years old, is one of the founders of the China Democracy Party. He has been sentenced multiple times by the Chinese Communist Party for pursuing democracy and spent 16 years in prison. Last year, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, and after his family’s efforts to fight for his rights, he finally obtained permission from the Chinese authorities to go to Japan for treatment. However, even while in Japan, Zhu Yufu was still under the control of the Hangzhou National Security Bureau.

Recently, Zhu Yufu’s sister, Zhu Xiaoyan, informed a reporter from Dajiyuan: “My brother, under the urging of the U.S. State Department, has obtained humanitarian emergency entry permission by the U.S. immigration authorities. If nothing unexpected happens, my brother’s flight will arrive in Los Angeles at 2:30 pm Los Angeles time on the 28th.”

She mentioned that as the expiration date of Zhu Yufu’s visa approached, the Hangzhou National Security Bureau almost confirmed his return date every day. To ensure her brother’s safe journey to the U.S., she did not reveal his itinerary to anyone until he boarded his connecting flight.

With the help of Pastor Fu Xiqiu, lawyer Chen Chuang, and others, Zhu Yufu made his way to the United States.

Zhu Xiaoyan said, “Zhu Yufu has obtained humanitarian emergency entry to the United States through the U.S. State Department. This is not a visa; it allows entry into the United States for two years. The notification clearly states that a change of status is needed within these two years, and the method of change should be determined according to the actual situation. I believe my brother’s most practical situation should be political asylum.”

Zhu Yufu is currently in the United States, in good spirits. Zhu Xiaoyan expressed gratitude to everyone for their support and help for Zhu Yufu.

Prior to Zhu Yufu’s arrival in the United States, he publicly released a 2,000-word account, detailing the tribulations and various oppressions he has faced in his pursuit of democracy and freedom throughout his life.

“I am Zhu Yufu, a native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 71 years old this year. Since my youth, I have harbored a deep hatred for authoritarian tyranny, aspiring to change a society that flagrantly tramples on human rights, ensuring that every person lives with dignity…”
