Chinese leader Xi Jinping has not abandoned the use of force against Taiwan, frequently dispatching military aircraft and ships to activities around the Taiwan Strait, as well as using gray-zone tactics to harass Taiwan. President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, encouraged the military forces during his visit to Taitung on the 21st, emphasizing that Taiwan cannot rely on the goodwill of others for peace. Faced with rapidly changing threats and challenges, true peace can only be achieved by relying on one’s own strength. He hopes that both the ruling and opposition parties can continue to cooperate, support the national defense budget, and support the entire national army.
