In the free world, National Day is a time of nationwide celebration, while in communist regimes, “National Day” is quite the opposite: every October 1st, in front of various Chinese embassies, there are only protests and condemnations.
On Wednesday (1st), groups of protesters gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles one after another. “No National Day, only national mourning!” “End the CCP, restore our human rights!”… These chants could be heard from hundreds of meters away on another street. The scene was filled with fervor, protesters unfurled long black banners with the words “October 1st, the end of the CCP’s tyranny” written on them.
Groups that joined the protest included the International Coalition for Democratic China, the Los Angeles Committee of the China Democracy Party, the Los Angeles Hong Kong Forum, the Taiwan Public Affairs Association, and Uyghur organizations, among others. Before the rally ended, they defaced and burned a five-starred red flag of the CCP.
Chairman Jie Lijian of the International Coalition for Democratic China stated at the gathering that since seizing power, the CCP has launched numerous political movements, leading to various human tragedies. “Since the ‘reform and opening-up,’ from the Tiananmen Square massacre to Xinjiang concentration camps, and the oppression of Hong Kong people to the intimidation of Taiwanese,” he said.
He mentioned that the CCP’s hands now reach out to students of all ages: schools are required to collect blood samples, turning the public into a “mobile organ donor bank” that can be used at any time; the current CCP leaders are only concerned with how to extend their lives to 150 years through live organ harvesting.
On October 1st, it is not only a day of China’s downfall and a day of disaster for the people, but also a day of resistance for Tibetans, Uyghurs, Hong Kong people, and Taiwanese friends, standing together to tell the world: October 1st marks the beginning of our days of suffering.
In one sentence, he summarized the essence of the CCP regime: “The People’s Republic of China is actually the ‘Country that Harms the People of China’!” and called on people of all ethnicities to resist together to end the CCP and pave the way for a secure, free, and democratic future.
Former Chinese history teacher Yuan Jue, who participated in the protest, said that the CCP’s seizure of power in 1949 with the slogan “The Chinese people have stood up” was a false claim: “How does the CCP maintain its power? Through lies and violence.”
Regarding the current situation of the Chinese people, he cited the crime of live organ harvesting as an example: Luo Shuaiyu, an intern at the Xiangya Hospital in Hunan, mysteriously died after collecting a large number of live organ harvesting operations. “This (live organ harvesting) has become a very complete and systematic industry in China,” he said. “In the eyes of the CCP, the people are not humans, but organ banks that are endless and inexhaustible.”
Vice Chairman Wu Zhao-feng of the Taiwan Public Affairs Association in Los Angeles participates in protests against the CCP every October 11th. He believes that this regime has caused great trouble to the whole world: “Internally, it oppresses the people, ‘harvests the leeks,’ treats the people as ‘party property,’ and when facing any political crisis, it uses the people as shields.”
“The existence of the ‘People’s Republic of China’ is a tragedy for humanity, for the world, and for all Chinese people,” Wu Zhao-feng hopes that the CCP will collapse soon, and that the world can return to peace and tranquility.
After the crackdown on the pro-democracy movement, the CCP has completely destroyed the freedom of Hong Kong, with a large number of protesters imprisoned or forced to leave the city. During the gathering, the song “Glory to Hong Kong” was played for the Hong Kong people who have lost their freedom in the protests as a sign of respect.
Charlie Lam, of the Hong Kong Forum, said at the rally that the once free and prosperous Hong Kong has been ruined by the CCP; the Hong Kong people who have moved to the UK, Canada, the US, Australia, and other countries are full of anger and will continue to fight against tyranny.
He felt that despite being suppressed and unable to speak out, the Hong Kong people’s passion has not been extinguished, “and at some point, I believe they will come out again.”
Mutalip Kurban, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Los Angeles World Uyghur Congress, stated that the Uyghur community in Xinjiang has suffered from oppression, slaughter, and imprisonment for the past 76 years, and over the past 8 years, they have faced a tragic genocide.
“We will not remain silent, we will continue to resist,” Kurban said, mentioning their collaboration with Congressman Chris Smith to introduce a bill to help the Uyghurs.
“Tyranny will not last forever. Darkness will eventually dissipate,” Kurban reminded people in the face of the CCP, stating, “Silence is complicity in tyranny. We cannot stand idly by; we must resist oppression and defend justice.”
He firmly believes that victory is imminent: “Victory belongs to us soon, and history will pass judgment.” He called on ethnic communities, organizations, and governments to “stand hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder.”
President Chen Jun-yan of the Taiwan Public Affairs Association in Los Angeles emphasized in his speech that the current CCP leaders have a sense of privilege, resorting to violence to seize everything that rightfully belongs to others. “We must stop this behavior, and Taiwanese people are capable of doing so.”
