Chinese AI Giant iFLYTEK Announces Bleak Financial Performance in First Half of the Year

China’s leading enterprise in AI voice technology, iFlytek, has released a performance forecast showing a net loss in the first half of this year.

On the evening of July 10th, iFlytek Co., Ltd. announced its semi-annual performance forecast for 2025. The data indicates that the company expects a 15% to 20% increase in operating revenue and gross profit in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. However, the net profit attributable to shareholders is still expected to be a loss of 200 million to 280 million yuan. In the first half of 2024, the company had a net loss of 400 million yuan.

As of the closing of July 10th, iFlytek’s stock price was reported at 46.81 yuan per share, a slight decrease of 0.02%.

On June 24th, iFlytek launched the Hong Kong and international versions of its multi-domain artificial intelligence products based on the iFLYTEK Xunfei Super Model and held the opening ceremony of iFlytek (International) Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong, marking the official launch of the company’s internationalization strategy.

However, iFlytek has faced international sanctions for using its technology to aid the Chinese Communist Party in violating human rights.

In 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce placed iFlytek, Sensetime, Hikvision, and several Chinese official institutions on its Entity List for export control.

Since then, iFlytek’s performance has been declining year by year. According to its annual report, iFlytek’s net profit in 2024 was 560 million yuan, a decrease of 14.78% compared to the previous year.
