After nearly 5 months since the first trial began, the former chairman of China Everbright Group Corporation (Everbright Group), Li Xiaopeng, was sentenced for bribery, accused of accepting over 60.43 million yuan (RMB) and receiving a 15-year prison term.
On March 18, the Intermediate People’s Court of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, publicly pronounced the verdict of Li Xiaopeng, former Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Everbright Group Corporation, in a bribery case. Li Xiaopeng was sentenced to 15 years in prison for bribery and fined 6 million yuan.
