Chengdu Railway Bureau Official Website Links to Adult Live Streaming Website, Attracts Attention

Recently, the “China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd.” was exposed for linking its website to an “adult live streaming” webpage, sparking attention.

On March 29, a job seeker posted a video claiming that the link to China Railway Talent Recruitment Network Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. led to a pornographic website.

The screencast shared by the job seeker showed that when clicking on recruitment platforms of railways in other provinces and cities on the China Railway Talent Recruitment Network, the pages could be accessed normally. However, upon clicking on the “China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd.” page, a warning popped up saying, “Warning! Contains adult live streaming content, minors are prohibited from viewing.” The video stirred discussion online.

At 9 a.m. on the 31st, a reporter from Hua Shang Bao Da Feng News inquired on the “China Railway Talent Recruitment Network” and found that the “Railway Chengdu Bureau Group” page displayed “unable to access this page.” Meanwhile, the webpages of railway bureaus in other provinces and cities could be opened without any issue.

In response to this, staff from the China Railway Chengdu Bureau mentioned that they do not have the website management authority within their unit. The technical department has been informed of the issue and is currently coordinating its resolution.

However, during an interview with the news at that time, the staff from the China Railway Chengdu Bureau stated that they had previously changed the domain name, which might have caused a delay in updating the website.

The incident of the China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. linking its website to an adult content webpage has raised concerns regarding internet security and oversight within the organization. The discovery was made by a vigilant job seeker who brought attention to this inappropriateness through a video post.

The situation highlighted potential flaws in the web management system of the company, as normal redirection to other provincial railway recruitment platforms contrasted starkly with the explicit warning upon accessing the Chengdu Bureau Group’s page. The incident not only triggered online discussions but also prompted immediate action from the authorities, leading to the unavailability of the concerned webpage for public access.

The response from the Chengdu Bureau staff revealed the complexity of website management and technical updates within a large organization. While efforts are being made to resolve the issue, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and oversight in ensuring a safe and professional online presence.

It is essential for companies, especially those with a significant online presence, to prioritize cybersecurity measures and maintain vigilance against unauthorized or inappropriate content linking. This incident serves as a cautionary tale for other organizations to review their web management practices and update protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
