On November 18th, a man in Chengdu stabbed someone to death in a street altercation. This incident follows a series of violent events, including a 62-year-old man in Zhuhai driving an off-road vehicle and causing the deaths of 35 people and injuring 43 on November 11th. Last Saturday, a indiscriminate stabbing spree took place at the Wuxi Institute of Technology, resulting in 8 deaths and 17 injuries.
On November 18th, a fatal stabbing incident occurred on Huiwangling East Road in Chengdu.
The Longquanyi District Branch of Chengdu Public Security Bureau reported that around 1 p.m. on the 18th, the suspect Zhu (male, 35 years old) was riding an electric scooter on Huiwangling East Road when he got into a verbal altercation with the driver of a small car, Jia (female, 34), and her passengers Wu (Jia’s husband, 35) and Jia’s brother (38). A physical altercation ensued, during which Zhu stabbed Wu with a knife he was carrying, causing fatal injuries. Wu died despite medical efforts.
Zhu has been criminally detained by the police, and the case is under further investigation.
This incident has once again drawn public attention to the issue of escalating violence.
