Charity Gift Trailer Stolen, Southern California Police Recovered Before the Holiday

Los Angeles County Culver City police announced last Thursday (December 24th) that a trailer filled with gifts stolen from a charity organization last month was recovered just before the holiday season, and the suspect has been detained.

According to the city’s news agency, on November 22nd, a trailer belonging to the non-profit organization Walk’n Rollers, which focuses on improving children’s health, was stolen, containing items intended for holiday gift-giving.

Authorities revealed that investigators knew it would be challenging to locate the stolen trailer but persevered nonetheless. After weeks of dedicated efforts, their hard work paid off with a breakthrough: a suspect was apprehended, and the trailer was recovered.

However, many scooters, bicycles, and equipment remained unrecovered. The police department stated that in the days leading up to Christmas, they focused their resources on replacing these items and dispatched personnel to assemble bicycles and equipment.

Ultimately, the officers delivered these bicycles, scooters, helmets, and other equipment to Jim Shanman, the head of Walk’n Rollers. Shanman expressed his gratitude to the officers delivering the gifts, saying, “This is truly amazing.”

The suspect’s name has not been disclosed.

The police emphasized that this was the result of a collective effort by the entire team, with everyone coming together to support the victims of the theft.
