Chairwoman of the Overseas Chinese Federation Visits South Bay Overseas Chinese Education Center

The Chairman of the “Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association” of the Republic of China, Tong Huizhen, visited the Jinshan Bay Area Overseas Chinese Education Center on May 3 (Friday) and visited the center after meeting with the director Zhuang Yashu.

Chairman Tong Huizhen of the Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association of the Republic of China embarked on an eight-day visit to the United States at the end of April. This is her first visit to the Jinshan Bay Area since taking office in February.

Director Zhuang Yashu first introduced the basic situation of the Jinshan Bay Area Overseas Chinese Education Center to Chairman Tong Huizhen. She mentioned that the center was established in 2015, with a total area of over 30,000 square feet, serving about 490,000 overseas Chinese in Northern California (excluding San Francisco) and Nevada.

Within the Southern Bay Area, there are many talents in the technology sector, and the overseas Chinese community has strong organizational capabilities, three times that of Houston.

Tong Huizhen stated that the Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association has 35 offices worldwide, including 16 in the United States. She hopes to strengthen communication with overseas Chinese education centers across the United States, working together to serve overseas Chinese, Chinese communities, and the Republic of China.

Especially now, with Taiwan facing threats from the Chinese Communist Party and undergoing challenges, she hopes that overseas Chinese can provide more support and assistance to Taiwan.

During the meeting, Tong Huizhen presented a copy of the “Overseas Chinese Newsletter,” published by the Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association, to the Jinshan Bay Area Overseas Chinese Education Center. She mentioned that the publication of the “Overseas Chinese Newsletter” by the association has a long history and has been produced every month without interruption. She hopes that this newspaper will help everyone understand more about Taiwan’s activities around the world.

Following Director Zhuang Yashu’s guidance, Tong Huizhen toured various areas of the overseas Chinese education center, including conference rooms, art exhibition halls, a 600-person capacity multipurpose hall, and library facilities.

The accompanying delegation for this visit included Wu Yuping, Director of the Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association’s South Bay Area office in San Francisco (Chairman of the World Federation of Outstanding Persons International), Vice Chairman of the World Federation of Outstanding Persons International Wu Muye, Yang Kunshan, Deputy Director of the San Francisco office of the Overseas Chinese National Salvation Association (President of the Northern California World Federation of Outstanding Persons), Zhou Weijun, Founder President of the San Jose World Federation of Outstanding Persons, Zhang Lirong, Founder President of the Fremont World Federation of Outstanding Persons, and Tong Huili (Chairman Tong Huizhen’s sister).
