Chairman of well-known textile company in Zhejiang, Bi Guangjun, jumps to his death

Zhejiang Jindianzi Textile Technology Co., Ltd. Chairman Bi Guangjun died by suicide on April 16 due to depression caused by the company’s failed transformation, at the age of 56. According to the funeral announcement by the Shaoxing Jindianzi Textile Technology Funeral Committee, Chairman Bi Guangjun passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 56, after suffering from depression for a long time.

Surveillance footage reported by Netease account “Sharp Entertainment” showed Bi Guangjun wandering alone on the rooftop terrace for 127 minutes before jumping off the building, with 23 cigarette butts scattered under his feet. Sources revealed that Bi Guangjun jumped from the 28th floor at around 6 a.m. Several netizens disclosed that three years ago, Bi Guangjun had risked half of his assets on new energy, fell victim to an international scam, lost everything, could not even pay his employees’ salaries, and had been depressed and blaming himself ever since, leading to his tragic decision to end his life.

“Sharp Entertainment” also mentioned that Bi Guangjun left behind a debt dispute of 3.7 billion yuan. In the chairman’s office piled with samples, investigators found a blood-red note in the 2024 annual summary report: “Failed transformation, ashamed to face the people of Jiangdong.”

Bi Guangjun, a textile industry tycoon from Wenzhou, Zhejiang, was well-known in the industry. His founded company, “Jindianzi Textile,” was once a star enterprise in the Keqiao textile circle in Shaoxing, with holdings or management of up to 21 enterprises and an annual turnover of over a billion. His major clients included international brands such as ZARA, MAX MARA, ARMANI EXCHANGE, as well as domestic fashion brands like Betty Barclay, Giordano, Peacebird, Aimer, and more.
