Celebrities in Disguise: DK Harassed While Live Streaming Under False Identity

Popular South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN member DK (Lee Seokmin) was harassed by sasaeng fans (fans who invade celebrities’ private lives) during a live broadcast on Weverse on the 5th.

During the live broadcast, DK mentioned that he hadn’t eaten yet and was just starting to eat when the broadcast was interrupted. DK mentioned that he had not set his phone to ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode, so he received a call during the broadcast, causing it to stop abruptly.

Furthermore, DK also said, “I thought it was Seungkwan who picked up the call. The call came through using Seungkwan’s name,” leading fans to speculate that sasaeng fans may have used a new type of online fishing program to disguise Seungkwan’s phone number and call DK.

Last year, SEVENTEEN member Hoshi also addressed sasaeng fans during a live broadcast, stating that he would stop broadcasting if they continued to call him. Hoshi also requested that sasaeng fans refrain from calling and even mentioned the possibility of taking legal action against them. Junhui and Mingyu have also revealed incidents of being harassed by sasaeng fans over the phone.

Despite SEVENTEEN’s management company stating that they will take strict legal action against those who invade their artists’ privacy, sasaeng fans’ harassment of artists continues, causing concern for both the artists and their fans.
