Byun Yoo Sik’s popularity soared due to his role in “Running with Shin Je,” gaining the highest popularity of his career. He portrayed a charismatic 19-year-old student, a naive university student in his twenties, and even a 34-year-old superstar in the drama, showcasing his diverse acting abilities.

During a special appearance on the variety show “LIU QUIZ ON THE BLOCK” hosted by Yoo Jae Suk, Byun Yoo Sik expressed his disbelief at the sudden surge of fame from starring in the drama and gratitude for the opportunity to play the character, “Yoo Shin Je.”

Due to the high popularity of “Running with Shin Je,” a theater viewing event for the final episode was held at CGV Longshan on the 28th, allowing fans to watch the last episode together with the main cast including Kim Hye Sun and Byun Yoo Sik. At the event, Byun Yoo Sik choked up while thanking everyone and even shed tears due to overwhelming emotions.

Byun Yoo Sik’s agency, VARO Entertainment, released his thoughts on the conclusion of the drama on the 29th. I lived as Shin Je for over a year, and I still feel uneasy in my heart, with emotions that are difficult to express in words.”

He continued, “To me, this drama is like a dream and the most meaningful work. I hope it is the same for the audience. I am grateful that Shin Je came into my life, and I ask everyone to continue supporting and loving Byun Yoo Sik in the future. Thank you all.”
