In a major homicide case that occurred last month in California, the family of one of the victims, a 37-year-old Chinese mother, recently revealed that she left behind a pair of eight-year-old twin daughters.
The family expressed that the grief they have been through is “unimaginable!”
In a GoFundMe fundraising campaign initiated by the family after the incident, it was stated, “Linlin left behind a pair of eight-year-old twin daughters, who have now lost both their mother and grandmother…. The whole family is enduring unimaginable grief and urgently needs support from the community.”
The aim of the campaign is to raise funds for funeral expenses, legal fees, and the long-term care needs of the children.
On September 18th, a tragic incident took place in a Chinese family’s home in Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California. Linlin Guo and her mother Beimin Cheng were found shot dead in their residence on Kelobra Court.
Currently, Linlin Guo’s husband, 43-year-old Howard Wang, has been arrested. According to police reports, when officers arrived at the scene, Wang was still inside the house with the couple’s children. Investigators later revealed that Wang had a history of domestic violence dating back to 2023, including threats and attempts to prevent Linlin from reporting the incidents.
The second suspect is 45-year-old Yan Wang, a resident of Oakland, who authorities say had a close relationship with Howard Wang. She is accused of destroying evidence and aiding Howard Wang in evading arrest.
Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton stated, “This tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences of domestic violence, not only taking the lives of victims but also causing profound impacts on the entire family and community.”
The organizer of the fundraising campaign wrote, “This is not just a tragedy; it sounds an alarm, warning people about the silent epidemic of domestic violence. Linlin was a loving mother, daughter, and friend. Her story deserves to be heard, and her children deserve a secure future.”
