Brooklyn Police Department Releases Suspect Photo in Stabbing of Chinese Laundry Worker

A Chinese female employee of a laundry store in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York was critically injured in a stabbing incident on Monday afternoon (16th). This case has drawn attention from the Chinese community in the city. The New York City Police Department released a photo of the male suspect on the 18th, hoping that anyone with information about the suspect would promptly contact the authorities to apprehend the habitual offender soon.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the 62nd Precinct of the New York City Police Department, according to information released by the DCPI. The man went to Super Laundry at 2061 Bath Ave to pick up his laundered and folded clothes. The Chinese female employee informed him that the store was very busy that day and that his clothes were still being washed. The man immediately lost control of his emotions, stabbed the female employee multiple times, then dropped the knife and fled north on 21st Ave towards Benson Ave. The 50-year-old female employee sustained multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, and arms, and was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in Bensonhurst for treatment. Her injuries are severe, but her condition is stable.
