British Man Proposes 43 Times in Various Ways, Girlfriend Finally Says Yes

A man in the UK spent several years proposing to his girlfriend in various ways, only to be rejected each time. However, he persisted and did not give up. It wasn’t until his 43rd proposal that his girlfriend finally said, “I do!” The man’s love and perseverance not only touched her but also countless netizens.

According to the New York Post, 36-year-old Luke Wintrip and 38-year-old Sarah Wintrip started dating in 2018. Half a year into their relationship, Luke planned a romantic proposal during a horseback riding trip in Jamaica, only to be turned down.

Both of them had just ended previous relationships. Despite loving each other, Sarah wasn’t ready to make a commitment so soon, especially with three daughters to take care of.

Sarah expressed her love for Luke but wanted to ensure that she was making the right decision at the right time, considering her children and other responsibilities.

Luke agreed and vowed to continue proposing to her. Over the next few years, he consistently came up with creative ways to propose, from visiting abandoned castles to candlelit dinners, but none were successful.

One of Luke’s meticulously planned proposals took place in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. He transformed an abandoned castle into a fairytale setting, filled with chocolates, champagne, and colorful lights. However, Sarah still turned him down.

Luke acknowledged that he had proposed too early but believed Sarah was the one for him. He wanted to prove his dedication to her and hoped her daughters would one day say, “If Luke loves Mom this much, I need to find someone who loves me just as much.”

On his 42nd attempt, Sarah rejected Luke again but promised, “The next time you propose, I will say yes, but you have to wait a bit.”

A year later, Luke took Sarah to Greenwich in southeast London, known for Greenwich Mean Time. He had street performers play her favorite song and proposed, saying, “This is the center of the world, and you are the center of my world. I want you to marry me.” Sarah finally said, “Yes.”

Sarah recalled, “He finally won my heart.” She added, “Maybe he should get a Guinness World Record for his persistence. I am grateful that he never gave up.”

As they say, “True love conquers all.” The couple tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held in Jamaica in May. Sarah shared photos on Instagram, captioning it, “Finally Mr. and Mrs. Wintrip.”

Reflecting on their romantic journey, Sarah encouraged other women to trust their choices: “If they are the right person, they will make an effort. If you’re not ready, you don’t have to say ‘yes’ right away; you can say ‘not yet.'”
