In a program released by Carol Cheng on April 30, Lee Young-ae debunked the claim circulating online that her diet plan consists of “drinking 10 cups of water a day and replacing dinner with grapes,” stating, “That was something I said when I was younger. But what’s important is to pay attention to diet, exercise, use good skincare products, and manage stress.”
Lee Young-ae was recently honored with the “Outstanding Asian Filmmaker Award.” She stunned the audience with her appearance in a pink gown with smooth skin and a youthful look, earning praise for her “timeless elegance.”
At 53 years old, Lee Young-ae started her acting career in 1993 and gained popularity across Asia with the drama “Dae Jang Geum.” In 2009, she married businessman Jeong Ho-young and they have 13-year-old twins.
After becoming a mother, Lee Young-ae shifted her focus to her family, taking care of her husband and children. It was not until 2017 when she made a comeback with the TV drama “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors” that she starred in several movies such as “Keys to the Heart,” “A Moment to Remember,” and “Joint Security Area.” She won Best Actress awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and Baeksang Arts Awards, and also served as a jury member at the Berlin International Film Festival.

During the interview, Lee Young-ae mentioned that her daughter is a big fan of the boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) and humorously revealed that her daughter is quite interested in the entertainment industry. Whenever they go out and see a crowd, her daughter would ask, “Did a celebrity come here?”
To this, Lee Young-ae laughed and said, “Mom is a celebrity. She’s right next to her, but she prefers works performed by young handsome guys.” As a mother, Lee Young-ae believes that children should focus on education and learning before deciding whether to enter the industry, emphasizing that pursuing this career out of curiosity alone can be challenging.
