Breaking News: Florida Bus Crash Results in 8 Deaths and 45 Injuries

On Tuesday, May 14th, local emergency officials reported that a bus carrying farm workers collided with a car and overturned on a state highway in north-central Florida, resulting in 8 deaths and 45 injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol stated that around 6:35 a.m. local time on Tuesday, the bus carrying approximately 53 farm workers and a 2001 Ford Ranger were involved in a collision. Subsequently, the bus left the roadway, went through a fence, and overturned.

At the time of the incident, the workers were on their way to Cannon Farm in the agricultural community of Dunnellon in Marion County, Florida, to harvest fruits.

James Lucas from the Marion County Fire Rescue team stated that there were 8 fatalities at the scene, with 45 injured individuals being transported to medical facilities, including 8 in critical condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the scene, and the National Transportation Safety Board is monitoring the situation.
