Recently, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, who was out promoting his new movie “F1” in Los Angeles, fell victim to a home burglary in the affluent Los Feliz community. The incident occurred when three suspects broke into his mansion through a window and ransacked the place, making off with miscellaneous items.
According to reports from NBC, the burglary took place around 10:30 p.m. on June 25th. The suspects made their way into the residence through the front window, looted the premises, and then fled with some items of unknown value. The identities of the three suspects have not been disclosed at this time.
Although the homeowner’s name has not been officially confirmed by the police, sources revealed that the targeted property belonged to Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt. The address of the burglarized house matches the one he purchased in April 2023 for $5.5 million. Fortunately, there was no one inside the house at the time of the break-in as Pitt was in Japan promoting his new film “F1,” so no other dangerous situations arose. It is unknown if the thieves were aware of Pitt’s schedule and took advantage of the opportunity to break in.
As of now, Pitt and his representatives have not publicly disclosed the specific items stolen during the burglary. Authorities are currently searching for the three suspects who trespassed the property by climbing over the front fence and entering through the window.
Drawing on reports from various American media outlets, this latest incident is part of a trend of frequent home burglaries targeting high-profile residences in Los Angeles and Southern California. Celebrities have been the primary victims of these crimes.
On Valentine’s Day, actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban’s residence in Los Angeles was burglarized. A week prior, the Southern California home of Los Angeles Football Club star striker Olivier Giroud was also targeted. Giroud, a member of the 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning French national team, reportedly had a significant amount of jewelry and other items stolen.
Last October, British singer Jessie J, known for her blues music, returned to her Los Angeles home to discover it had been broken into and burglarized. The thieves smashed a rear window to gain access to the house, stealing jewelry worth over $20,000.
Moreover, in recent months, incidents of home burglaries have affected a range of celebrities from Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson to Bhad Bhabie in Los Angeles.
Authorities have not disclosed whether these crimes are linked to a South American burglary ring known to target high-end residences across the United States from the East Coast to the West Coast, a group that has been active in the Los Angeles area for over a decade.
Brad Pitt, who famously starred alongside Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie in the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and later married her in 2014, has three biological and three adopted children with her. Their marriage ended in 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Following a contentious custody battle in the months after the divorce announcement, a settlement was reached in December 2024, marking five years since their legal separation. Jolie’s lawyer expressed her relief that the long-standing family disputes had finally come to an end.
During an interview with GQ at the end of last month, Brad Pitt discussed his divorce from Angelina Jolie for the first time. After nearly eight years of legal disputes, their divorce was finalized in December of the previous year. When asked if he felt relieved by the resolution, Pitt downplayed the significance, stating it was merely a legal matter that had settled.
