On November 24, 2025, Pakistan officials reported that three suicide bombers attacked the headquarters of a paramilitary force in Pakistan, resulting in three deaths and at least five injuries.
The attackers, according to police, forcibly entered the Frontier Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar and opened fire before detonating explosives inside the base.
Javed Iqbal, the deputy commander of the force, mentioned that three paramilitary personnel lost their lives in the attack.
A senior official, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Reuters, “The first suicide bomber launched the attack at the main entrance of the constabulary headquarters, while the other two entered the base.”
Due to the lack of authorization to speak to the media, the official requested anonymity. He added, “Law enforcement agencies, including the military and police, have cordoned off the area and are cautiously handling the situation as we suspect there are still some terrorists hiding within the headquarters.”
The headquarters of this paramilitary force is located in a densely populated area of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Local resident Safdar Khan informed Reuters, “The roads are blocked, and the area is sealed off by the military, police, and security personnel.”
Mohammad Asim, spokesperson for Lady Reading Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the city, stated that five injured individuals, including two paramilitary personnel, have been brought to the hospital.
So far, no armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Following a deadly border clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan last month, there has been an escalation in attacks by Islamic militants operating in this region over the past few weeks.
Pakistan has accused the Afghan Taliban of harboring armed militants and launching cross-border attacks from the other side of the border, while Kabul has denied these allegations.
