According to a survey conducted by the dating website DatingNews, Montclair and Ridgewood in New Jersey have been rated as one of the top 50 places in the United States “most suitable for married couples to live and build a family”. Among 3,000 single individuals surveyed to choose their dream location to settle down after marriage, Montclair ranked 36th while Ridgewood was placed at 41st.
Montclair is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets and diverse housing styles, ranging from large Victorian mansions to modern apartment buildings, catering to various preferences. The town boasts a vibrant, highly inclusive community that actively engages in arts, education, and local affairs. The survey highlights Montclair’s rich cultural atmosphere with numerous art galleries, theaters, and live music venues. The Montclair Art Museum serves as the cultural hub of the community.
Ridgewood, on the other hand, is favored for its bustling downtown area and top-notch public schools. The town offers vast green spaces including parks and nature reserves, providing residents with abundant options for outdoor activities. Ridgewood’s convenient geographical location is also a major advantage, offering easy access to New York City, making it an ideal residential choice for those seeking a peaceful suburban lifestyle while staying connected to job opportunities in the metropolis.
In addition to Montclair and Ridgewood, another New Jersey city that made it to the top 100 in the survey is Princeton, coming in at 91st place. Known for its excellent educational resources and high quality of life, Princeton has attracted numerous families to settle in the area.
Apart from the three New Jersey locations, the survey also revealed that Greenville in South Carolina was rated as the most popular “ideal community” white picket fence small town in America. The top five locations in the list include Waimea in Hawaii, Safety Harbor in Florida, Maryville in Tennessee, and Alexandria in Virginia.
