Berlin Chinese Hold Vigil on National Day of Mourning, Call for Overthrow of CCP Tyranny

On October 1, 2025, the 76th anniversary of China’s National Mourning Day, the Chinese Democratic Front in Germany, in conjunction with the European Union of New Citizen Movement, jointly organized a large-scale protest titled “No National Day, Only National Mourning.” The event took place in Berlin, Germany, where several democracy advocates, victims, and human rights activists delivered speeches, calling on the international community to pay attention to China’s human rights situation and urging concerted efforts to overthrow the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party.

Human rights activist Mr. Stephen from the “Threatened People Association” in Germany delivered a speech at the event expressing solidarity with Chinese democracy advocates, emphasizing that German society should stand with the Chinese people to defend freedom and human rights.

Wang Shoufeng, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Democratic Front in Germany and co-founder of the European Union of New Citizen Movement, called for unity among democratic forces at home and abroad to firmly overturn the authoritarian rule of the CCP. He pointed out that the freedom and dignity of the Chinese people must not continue to be trampled upon.

Wang Wenxiao demanded a historical reckoning of the atrocities committed by the CCP and called for accountability for its crimes against humanity.

Victim of forced organ harvesting Zhang Qi and his mother Du Tingxiang spoke out publicly for the first time, urging the international community to take decisive action against the CCP’s organ harvesting crimes, hold those responsible accountable, and impose sanctions.

Li Tao and his son Zhang Yunhai appealed to German human rights organizations in fluent German, requesting that German society pay closer attention to the deteriorating human rights situation in China.

Guo Caihong and her son, victims of the melamine-tainted milk powder scandal, also spoke at the event, exposing the CCP’s long-term cover-up of the truth and condemning the authorities’ callousness towards affected families.

Huang Weidong delivered a speech in support of Taiwan independence.

Wang Weineng, Li Yanlan, and Peng Yunlong jointly called on people around the world who love peace to unite in efforts to overthrow the CCP’s tyranny and achieve democracy in China.

Furthermore, Junpeng, the son of Zhang Qiang, a hero of the 1989 pro-democracy movement, along with Wang Junwei, Wang Jing, Zhao Li, Li Jiahui, and Wang Chenxu, took the stage to reiterate the determination of China’s younger generation to uphold democratic ideals.

This protest activity united the local Chinese democratic forces and garnered widespread international attention. Participants unanimously expressed their commitment to continue exposing the CCP’s crimes against humanity and called on global justice forces to exert collective pressure to push China towards democracy and freedom.
