Recently, in Shaanxi Xianyang, a serious traffic accident occurred, resulting in 5 deaths and 3 injuries.
According to the report from Jimo News on April 8th, the accident happened around 5:36 am on April 1st. As per the local police report, driver Tuo drove a small ordinary car in the direction of Xi’an on the Fuyin Expressway, collided with the heavy semi-trailer truck driven by Zhang in front, causing the small ordinary car to catch fire and burn, resulting in 5 deaths and 3 injuries.
The report stated that the cause of the accident was that Tuo did not maintain a safe distance from the front vehicle and failed to take action in dangerous situations, leading to the collision and fire of the vehicle he was driving, while Zhang was suspected of driving below the speed limit on the highway.
The incident sparked heated discussions online. Many netizens commented, “Why isn’t the brand of the car mentioned? So many people died, this car is so unsafe, the car manufacturer should take responsibility.” “Rear-end collisions are the most terrifying, affecting everyone involved.” “An incident that happened on April 1st, but the news is only out today, was it suppressed before being released?”
Some expressed dissatisfaction with the unequal driving regulations, stating, “This is the unequal treaty. Small cars can run at 120, buses at 100, and trucks at 80 on the highway, but how high is the sensitivity of large trucks? The minimum speed on highways is always 60, the only thing is whether trucks driving below the limit will be caught by cameras or police at highway exits.” “Driving a semi-trailer is too difficult.”
This tragic accident once again highlights the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such devastating incidents from happening.
