Taiwanese photographer Song Yongtai expressed that the Shantou Sea area in the Linyuan District of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, is home to the only offshore reef in Asia called “Square Sea,” a hidden gem. Song Yongtai also discovered a rare phenomenon called the “Yin and Yang Sea” behind the “Square Sea” and wanted to share it with readers of Epoch Times worldwide.
According to Song Yongtai, the “Nanshu of the City Boundary” in the Shantou Sea area of the Linyuan District in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, features the unique offshore reef “Square Sea,” also known as “Square Waves” or “Intersecting Waves.” Currently, only the small island of Île de Ré in the south of France and Xiju Island in Matsu, Taiwan, have the “Square Sea,” making it a world-class natural wonder.
He introduced that the Linyuan District in Kaohsiung City boasts many beautiful geographical landscapes. In addition to Asia’s only high offshore reef, the “Square Sea,” and the “Nanshu of the City Boundary,” there is also Taiwan’s unique Jellyfish Lake and the distinctive hidden gem of “Crescent Bay,” featuring nine U-shaped sandy beaches. “Domestic and foreign tourists, as well as photography enthusiasts, can come here to capture stunning sunrise and sunset views. Sometimes, there are special cloud formations that can be seen all in one place.”
