American idol singer Sabrina Carpenter, 25, encountered a frightening incident during her performance at the Outside Lands music festival held at the Golden Gate National Park in Los Angeles on August 10. Behind the stage, fireworks suddenly exploded out of control, sending sparks towards her, causing her to dash to the front to evade the danger. More than ten backup dancers also scattered in panic, creating a tense and risky scene.
In a video from the scene, as Sabrina was engrossed in singing her popular song “Please Please Please,” the fireworks behind her quickly erupted, startling her and leaving her momentarily speechless with her hand covering her mouth.
Amid the panic, Sabrina and her dance team members quickly fled from the stage. While she ran and shouted, covering her mouth with her hand, the backup dancers also swiftly scattered. An audience member seated in the front row revealed that “the fireworks started exploding behind Sabrina,” and when the sparks bounced towards her chest, she looked pained, screaming and awkwardly evading. By the time the staff attempted to come to her rescue, the stage was already empty.
Despite the chaos at the scene, Sabrina’s manager later confirmed that she was unharmed.
