Ali Mountain High Mountain Tea Fragrance Floats in the Capital: Taiwanese Tea Art Culture Amazes One Hundred Guests.

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau continues to promote the Taiwan tourism brand 3.0 version “TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder”. On December 6th, in collaboration with the renowned American museum institution, the Smithsonian Associates, a special event titled “Taiwan’s Alishan Tourism and Tea Art Cultural Promotion” was held at the Ripley Center in Washington D.C. This event featured the presence of Taiwanese tea art culture creator, Hong Chung-lun, who has won numerous awards domestically and internationally in the field of tea craftsmanship. He conducted an “Alishan Feast” and shared with the audience the abundant tourism resources of Alishan, Taiwan’s tea art culture, and the rich flavor of high-mountain tea.

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s New York office continues to focus on promoting Taiwan tourism with the themes of embracing mountains, embracing waters, and enjoying cycling around the island in various locations across North America to attract international travelers to visit Taiwan. The Taiwan’s Alishan Tourism and Tea Art Cultural Promotion event in Washington D.C. showcased many elements of Taiwanese culture beloved by American travelers. Through discussions and sharing by local tea farmer, Hong Chung-lun, the event provided detailed introductions to the delicious cuisine, beautiful scenery, sunrise views, sea of clouds, Tsou indigenous culture, and the internationally renowned Alishan high-mountain tea.

Furthermore, Hong Chung-lun also conducted a tea ceremony performance on-site, showcasing and brewing several award-winning teas flown directly from Alishan to the United States, including the fragrant Alishan Sunlight Oolong, Anxi Red Tea, and GABA Tea. He led the attendees in a tea tasting session, where aromatic fragrances and rich tea flavors filled the air.

More than a hundred enthusiastic attendees participated in the event, marveling at the rich and smooth flavor of the Taiwanese high-mountain tea and thoroughly enjoying the innovative experience of Hong Chung-lun’s tea ceremony performance. Many expressed keen interest in visiting Taiwan for tourism, eager to personally experience the diverse local culture and the beauty of the high mountains. Flight carriers such as China Airlines and EVA Air set up booths at the event, while the Tourism Bureau had a special booth offering guests information on various travel packages and tourism deals for visiting Taiwan.

Chuang Chin-chen, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s New York office, emphasized that Taiwan boasts rich natural ecology, diverse culture, a safe environment, friendly and hospitable people, and Alishan is a must-visit unique attraction. Major cities in North America are well-connected with direct flights to Taiwan by EVA Air and China Airlines, making travel to Taiwan convenient. Transit passengers to Taiwan can also enjoy a free half-day tour, welcoming international travelers to come and experience Taiwan’s beauty, cuisine, and culture firsthand!

Yang Yi-shan, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States, pointed out that both Taiwan and the United States possess vibrant democracies, prosperous economic development, and rich cultural and artistic life. Through the tourism and tea art promotion event, she hopes to further enhance Taiwan’s tourism and showcase Taiwan to international travelers from Washington D.C. and around the world.
