Airline Hostess on Eastern Airlines Suddenly Releases Emergency Slide and Jumps Down

Recently, a China Eastern Airlines plane’s emergency slide was unexpectedly deployed. On May 1st, more details about the incident have emerged, such as the involvement of a flight attendant with 10 years of experience.

On April 30th, China Eastern Airlines announced that during the turnaround period of its Xi’an to Shanghai flight on the 29th, the slide was released. According to a report in the Xinjing News, an informed source at the airport revealed that the plane involved was an Airbus A320 carrying passengers arriving at Pudong Airport. Preliminary information suggests that a conflict among the crew members led to the deployment of the emergency slide. This incident resulted in the plane being temporarily taken out of operation.

In a previous report, it was mentioned that a conflict among the crew members led to China Eastern Airlines’ emergency slide being deployed unexpectedly.

On May 1st, a report by “City Express” under the “Cheng Shi Huo Bao” revealed that an insider in the civil aviation industry disclosed that the incident was due to a conflict between colleagues. The flight attendant opened the slide herself and jumped off.

According to the report, sources stated that the flight attendant involved had been flying for 10 years. Whether this incident will adversely affect her colleagues will depend on how the airline handles the situation.

A senior civil aviation captain pointed out that accidentally releasing the aircraft slide results in significant losses. Aircraft slides require specialized personnel for folding and maintenance. Moreover, when an aircraft that should be flying is grounded, it affects flight schedules.

An industry insider in civil aviation mentioned that if the emergency slide is damaged after being deployed, the compensation could amount to over 500,000 RMB, equivalent to a BMW 5 Series. While the slide can be opened in seconds, the restoration process is lengthy, requiring around 20 days for a specialized team to fold it back properly.
