A total of 196 affordable housing units located at 165 Broome Street in the Lower East Side Community Board 3 in Manhattan are now open for applications. The deadline for applications is August 28th, with monthly rents starting at $454 and income requirements ranging from $18,000 to $154,000.

These affordable housing units are conveniently located within walking distance to the renowned Essex Market in the Lower East Side neighborhood. Nearby transportation options include the Delancey St-Essex St subway station (serving F/M/J/Z lines), M14A-SBS bus, and M9 bus. The surrounding communities include Chinatown, Little Italy, with major retailers like Target and Trader Joe’s.

Inside the units, they are equipped with luxurious vinyl flooring, engineered stone countertops, and white appliances. The property amenities include on-site management, resident lounge, elevator, bike storage, package room, and a card-operated laundry room (fee required).

Unit types range from studios to three-bedrooms. There are four income tiers for applicants:

(1) 30% of area median income ($18,480-$57,780), with monthly rents of $454-$774
(2) 50% of area median income ($37,543-$96,300), with monthly rents of $1,010-$1,738
(3) 70% of area median income ($53,520-$134,820), with monthly rents of $1,476-$2,546
(4) 80% of area median income ($61,509-$154,080), with monthly rents of $1,709-$2,949
