Adele Announces Indefinite Departure from Music Industry, Final Performance Time Revealed

On August 31st, local time, British singer Adele Adkins announced during her final concert in Munich, Germany that she will take a long break from the music industry after completing her residency in Las Vegas.

At 36 years old, Adele, who divorced her affluent ex-husband Simon Konecki in 2019, and started dating NBA agent Rich Paul in 2021. On August 10th, Adele showed off an engagement ring on her left ring finger during a concert in Munich, confirming her engagement to Rich Paul.

Adele addressed the audience at the last of her 10 concerts in Munich on August 31st, saying, “I just need a break. For the past seven years, I have been working hard to create the life I want, now I need to enjoy it.” She mentioned that she still has 10 shows left, including the postponed Las Vegas residency due to illness, scheduled for November, which will be her last performance before her break from the music industry.

The concerts in Germany were held in a temporary sports arena with over 73,000 seats, selling a total of over 730,000 tickets, leaving a remarkable record in the music industry. Adele did not disclose how long her break will be to the audience, only emphasizing that they will be in her heart during the time they are apart.

Adele is set to perform her last 10 shows at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas from October 25th to November 23rd, marking the end of her “Weekends with Adele” residency that started in November 2022.

Despite announcing an indefinite hiatus from the music industry, Adele has not clearly stated if there are any new plans in the works. However, in May of this year, Adele expressed her desire to have a child after completing all her concerts, stating she wants a girl since she already has a son. She mentioned that the new addition might become the person she loves the most but could also potentially be the one she hates the most, sparking curiosity about her future plans.
