Actress Li Yitong Touches Seat Cushions Barefoot on Plane, Video Sparks Controversy

Chinese Actress Li Yitong, who gained fame for her role as Huang Rong in the TV series “The Legend of the Condor Heroes,” has recently sparked controversy after photos of her barefoot on an airplane seat cushion surfaced online.

In the images shared by netizens on Weibo, Li Yitong is seen wearing a black tight-fitting top and denim pants while seated in the airplane cabin. Despite covering most of her face with a mask, her presence as a celebrity is still evident.

In the photos, Li Yitong is seen using her phone, applying makeup, wearing a mask, and holding a pillow. She had taken off her short boots and placed them in front of her seat, with no socks in sight. It appears as though she is lounging barefoot on the seat cushion, reminiscent of being at home.

The blogger who posted the photos expressed disbelief, implying disapproval of her behavior, citing concerns about hygiene and etiquette.

Many netizens commented that “going barefoot in public spaces is not only unhygienic but also disrespectful to others”, “I wouldn’t do it because I find the seats dirty”, “Chairs are meant for sitting, feet should be placed on the ground properly, not on the seat cushion.” Some even lamented that “some celebrities lack basic manners compared to ordinary people.”

Others took a more lenient stance, saying “the chair has probably had many feet resting on it, so her behavior isn’t a big problem, but as a public figure, it’s not appropriate”, “if she had worn socks, there wouldn’t have been such a controversy, but it’s still best not to do it in public places.”

Li Yitong, 34, who once served as a body double for Zhao Liying, rose to fame in 2017 for her role as Huang Rong in the TV series, earning the title of “most beautiful Huang Rong” and becoming a rising star in the mainland China entertainment industry. As a result, her every move has been closely scrutinized by the public.
